350 South Van Buren Street is the new home for LaGrange County Convention and Visitors Bureau, and it also is the location of an Open House to celebrate its relocation.
Held in conjunction with National Tourism Week, the Open House takes place Thursday, May 10, 4-7 p.m.
Beth Thornburg, Director of the CVB, said she is happy about the new location because it places the Visitors Center closer to Shipshewana’s downtown shopping area and directly across from the Shipshewana Flea Market.
“Visitors can enjoy a cup of coffee, watch videos about the area, and find racks of brochures. With one-on-one help from the staff, we can help secure lodging, offer several area maps to help out-of-town folks explore our Amish backroads, and offer suggestions for the many sights and experiences LaGrange County offers.”
As part of the Open House, refreshments will be served, along with giveaways for advertising in the Amish Backroads Visitors Guide.
Thornburg added she is glad that the CVB Board members will be in attendance at the Open House. “These individuals are dedicated volunteers who donate their time and talents to help the CVB run efficiently. They deserve special recognition for their efforts.”
The public, business partners, and retailers are invited to attend. Said Thornburg, “We welcome everyone to stop in and see how we can now better serve you.”
