Lady Warriors rolls over West Noble

The Westview varsity girls basketball team gained some momentum heading into this week’s sectional play last Friday night by defeating West Noble, 58-52 in Emma.

Coach Randy Yoder’s Lady Warriors shot out to a 13-4 lead after one period and held a 48-38 advantage through three frames. West Noble got to within six in the final stanza, but did not come any closer.

Jeslyn Zimmerly canned six, three-point shots to finish with 18 points for Westview. Brooke Yoder and Skyler Carpenter joined Zimmerly in double figures with 17 and 15 markers, respectively.

Carpenter also ccontributed seven rebounds, five steals and four assists to the Lady Warrior cause. Brooke Schwartz grabbed six caroms.

Kelsie Peterson topped West Noble with 20 points. Kamry Hunter chipped in 11.

The victory gave Westview a final mark of 6-4 in the NECC. The Lady Warriors will take a 10-10 overall slate into their sectional opener at home against Bremen.
