Lady Warriors rip Elkhart Christian

Westview started fast and finished even stronger in forging a 66-23 varsity girls basketball triumph at Elkhart Christian Tuesday evening.

The Lady Warriors bolted to a 21-9 lead by the end of the first quarter, then used a 13-8 run in the second frame to build a 34-17 halftime cushion. Coach Randy Yoder’s charges didn’t let up in the second half, as they out scored the Lady Eagles, 32-6 to pull away for their second win of the campaign.

Eight different Lady Warriors got into the scoring act, led by Skyler Carpenter’s 18 points. Brooke Yoder tacked on 10 markers, while Jeslyn Zimmerly, Amber Roth and Rachelle Whitaker all added eight to the Westview total.

Carpenter also led the victors in steals with seven and Yoder topped the assist chart with five. Zimmerly pitched in five steals and four assists.        

Alexis Lyon paced Elkhart Christian with 12 points.
