Lady Panthers defeat Cherabusco

Prairie Heights rolled past visiting Churubusco, 55-20 in NECC girls basketball play Saturday night.

The Lady Panthers swished four, three-point shots in the first quarter, sparking them to a 16-3 lead. Logan Penick drained two of the long bombs en route to a team-high 14 points.

Seven other Heights players got into the scoring act. Following Penick with nine markers was Tressa Terry. Shawna Carbone chipped in eight.

Tianna Terry grabbed seven rebounds, part of a 30-20 edge on the boards for the Lady Panthers. Carbone and Tressa Terry each latched onto six caroms.

Chandler Blake finished with seven points to pace Churubusco.

 

The triumph lifted coach Kevin Frey’s Lady Panther squad to 5-1 in the NECC and to 7-3 overall.
