Prairie Heights pounded out 13 hits and drew 11 walks en route to a 21-7 varsity softball triumph at Fort Wayne North Monday.
Shawna Carbone had four hits and three RBI to pace the Lady Panthers, who broke open the game with an eight-run third inning. One of Carbone’s shots went for a triple.
Maddie Blum lined a single and garnered three RBI for the winners. Britanie Jernigan had two doubles and two RBI, Alex Messer logged a two-run double and Emily German laced a pair of RBI singles.
Danielle Engle, Carbone and German all took turns in the pitcher’s circle for the Lady Panthers with Carbone earning the victory. The trio combined to allow six hits, walk three and strikeout seven.
Prairie Heights traveled to DeKalb Wednesday night and dropped a 12-2 result to the Lady Barons.
