Kite Komotion April 26 in Shipshewana

The annual Kite Komotion festival is planned for Saturday, April 26, at the Shipshewana Event Center. The clinic and festival will run from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. and admission to the festival is free.

Planned activities include demonstrations by international kite teams “The Windjammers” and “Fire and Ice” as well as the “Blues Brothers” pairs kite teams and “Mr. Incredible.” The professional kite exhibitions are all to music and are a delight for the crowds.

There will be free kite making kits and instruction for the first 500 kids to participate.

The kids will also enjoy the candy drops, where candy is dropped from a kite. The drops will be at 12:30 and 2 p.m.

The festival is a great experience for all ages and everyone is invited to bring lawn chairs or a blanket to sit back and enjoy the large, colorful kites in all shapes and sizes.

The event is organized by LaGrange Communities Youth Centers (LCYC), along with support from Head Over Heels of Shipshewana.
