Katie J. Bontrager, 91, Shipshewana, died Thursday, May 10, 2012 at her residence.
She was born February 20, 1921, in Dodge City, Kan., to Joe B. and Lydia (Troyer) Miller.
She was a homemaker and member of the Old Order Amish Church.
She was married February 5, 1942, in Middlebury, to Ammon J. Bontrager. He preceded her in death on September 28, 2000.
Surviving are five daughters, Betty (Levi) Raber, Topeka, Sue Bartley, Goshen, Mary (Mac) McClain and Lydia (Herman) Yoder, both of Shipshewana, and Edna Miller, Middlebury; one son, Duane (LeiLani) Bontrager, Shipshewana; 22 grandchildren; 52 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Sue (Ezra) Yoder, Topeka, and Mary Miller, Goshen; and one brother, Crist (Katie) Miller, Shipshewana.
She was preceded in death by one son, Ernest J. Bontrager, one grandson, Jason L. Yoder, one great-grandson, Matthew Yoder, and six brothers, Roman, William, Ben, Noah, Joe B. Jr., and David Miller.
Services were held Sunday, May 13, at the Christie Schlabach residence, 155 Union St. in Shipshewana, with Bishop Jerry Miller and Home Ministers officiating.
Burial is in Bontrager Cemetery, Middlebury.
