Karch Bachman recently returned from his first foray as a member of Team USA hockey, playing on the U-18 team in an international tournament in the Czech Republic.
“I played pretty well,” Bachman said. “It is a different game than here. It was the best kids in the world. High energy and fast pace.” The other players were also bigger, he added. “You had to make the plays real quick,” he said.
In all, the team played six games, one exhibition and five tournament games. Bachman racked up six points in all – four goals and two assists.
The team finished third overall, behind top team Canada and the host team from the Czech Republic.
“It was a different atmosphere. It was a great experience and I won’t forget it,” Bachman said.
