June L. Hostetler, 84, Middlebury, died Thursday, June 12, 2014 at Elkhart General Hospital.
She was born June 15, 1929, in Chicago, Ill., to Henry and Emily (Brauneis) Van Zuilen.
She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in orthopedics from Northeastern Illinois University in 1978. She was a school nurse at Shipshe-Scott School from 1963-1965, worked at the student health centers of Indiana University in Bloomington, Western Illinois University, North Texas State University, and Northwestern University from 1965-1973. She then worked in doctors’ offices for 22 years. She was also a summer camp nurse at Epworth Forest Summer Church Camp at Lake Webster for three years.
She was married March 3, 1951, in Middlebury, to Frank Hostetler. He survives.
Also surviving are two daughters, Jeanne Hostetler, Middlebury, and Jennifer (Thomas) Mottier, Aurora, Ill.; one son, Monte (Laura) Hostetler, Waldorf, Md.; four grandchildren, Tom, Michael, Kathleen and Heather; one great-grandson, Eli; and two sisters, Dorothy Herring, Goshen, and Darlene (Leland) DePue, Middlebury.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Don Van Zuilen.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Monday, June 16, at Miller-Stewart Funeral Home in Middlebury.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 17, at Shore Mennonite Church in Shipshewana with Pastor Carl Horner officiating.
Burial will be in Shore Cemetery, Shipshewana.
