LaGrange Superior Court Judge George E. Brown has been included in the 2014 edition of Who’s Who in America and Who’s Who in the World.
Judge Brown is in his 30th year on the bench. He was appointed judge of the LaGrange County Court in 1984 by Governor Orr and became the first judge of the newly created Superior Court in 1988.
He is a graduate of Ball State University and DePaul University College of Law. He also completed the Indiana Judicial College Program and the Indiana Graduate Program for judges.
Judge Brown was recently appointed by the Indiana Supreme Court to its Committee on Character and Fitness. He also serves on the Criminal Law Policy Committee and the Criminal Benchbook Committee of the Judicial Conference of Indiana. He is a member of the American Bar Association and its National Conference of State Trial Judges, and a member of the Indiana State Bar Association where he serves in the House of Delegates and on the Committee on Improvements in the Judicial System and the Written Publications Committee. He is also a member of the LaGrange County Bar Association.
In addition to his judicial duties, Judge Brown is on the adjunct faculty at Trine University in Angola and serves as a volunteer judge in the We The People program.
Brown and his wife live in LaGrange and have two daughters and three grandchildren.
