Joseph Pease Sr.

Joseph Max Pease Sr., 74, Rome City, Ind., died Thursday, October 9, 2014, at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Ft. Wayne, Ind.

    He was born April 20, 1940, in Ft. Wayne, Ind., to Glenn and Helen (Monnier) Pease.

    Moving from Ft. Wayne, Ind., to this area in 1976, he served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1957-1961. He retired after 24 years as a mail carrier for the Ft. Wayne, Ind., Post Office and was a member of Wolcottville United Methodist Church.

    He was married August 27, 1960, in Ft. Wayne, Ind., to Joyce A. Niedermeyer. She survives.

    Also surviving are one daughter, Christina (DeWayne) Owsley, Wawaka; one son, Joseph M. Pease Jr., Ft. Wayne, Ind.; a daughter-in-law, Kim Pease, Cornwall, England; seven grandchildren, Katie Pease, David Pease, Bethany Pease, Sarah Pease, Jake Pease, Hunter Taylor, and Cassidy Owsley; and two great-grandchildren, Jasper Pease and Honour Pease.

    He was preceded in death by his parents and one son, Brad Pease.

    Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Monday, October 13, at Young Family Funeral Home Wolcottville Chapel.

    Funeral service will be 1 p.m.  Tuesday, October 14, at Young Family Funeral Home Wolcottville Chapel with Pastor Jack Thomas officiating. Honor guard services will be provided by Rome City American Legion Post 381, Kendallville VFW Post 249, Kendallville American Legion Post 86, and active duty members of the U.S. Marine Corps.
