Joe J. Nisley, 52, New Paris, Ind., died Saturday, May 26, 2012 while on a Lake Michigan fishing expedition.
He was born July 21, 1959, in LaGrange, to John C. and Barbara Ellen (Miller) Nisley.
He worked at Smoker Craft in New Paris, Ind., and was a member of the Old Order Amish Church.
He was married February 21, 1985, in Topeka, to Lou Ella Miller. She survives.
Also surviving are four daughters, Nadine A. Nisley, at home, Elaine S. Nisley and special friend Elmer Schlabach, at home, Marlene R. (Jacob) Wingard of Shipshewana, Karen F. Nisley, at home; four sons, Nathan J. Nisley, Middlebury, Arlen D. Nisley, Michael L. Nisley, and Mark J. Nisley, all at home; one grandson, Braydon C. Wingard; four sisters, Lillian Nisley, LaGrange, Gertie A. (Harvey) Bontrager, Mentone, Mich., Mary E. (Clarence) Gingerich, Shipshewana, and Lorene Lillian, Shipshewana; and three brothers, Paul (Mary E.) Lillian, Topeka, Vernon (Sara) Nisley, Topeka, and Freeman (Mary E.) Nisley, Wolcottville.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a stillborn sister.
Visitation is after 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 30, and all day Thursday, May 31, at family residence, 68286 CR 29 in New Paris, Ind.
Services will be 9:30 a.m. Friday, June 1, at the family residence, 68286 CR 29 in New Paris, Ind., with Bishop John Eash and home ministers officiating.
Burial will be in Timber View Cemetery, Millersburg.
