Joas J. Chupp, 86, Bristol, died Sunday, June 15, 2014 at Elkhart General Hospital.
He was born December 20, 1927, in Arthur, Ill., to Jacob J. and Mattie (Herschberger) Chupp.
He worked in the cabinet shop for the mobile home industry.
He was married November 20, 1951, in Arthur, Ill., to Esther Yutzy. She survives.
Also surviving are one daughter, Naomi (Robbie) Royal, Bristol; three sons, Larry J. (Dot) Chupp, Shipshewana, Anthony W. (Coretta) Chupp, Middlebury, and Danny L. (Leah) Chupp, Jones, Mich.; 10 grandchildren, Tabitha, Rachel, Andrew, Jonathan, Ethan, Alaina, Kirsten, Daniel, Laurel and Jana; four brothers, Eli (Anna) Chupp, Shipshewana, Lewis (Mary) Chupp, Arthur, Ill., Edward (Verna) Chupp, Arthur, Ill., and Omer (Lorene) Chupp, Arthur, Ill.; and three sisters, Edna (late Fred) Schrock, Arthur, Ill., Clara (Edward) Schrock, Arthur, Ill., and Wilma (Eli) Yoder, Crab Orchard, Ky.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two sons, Mark and Eldon Chupp.
Visitation is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday, June 20, at Townline Mennonite Church in Shipshewana.
Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 21, at Townline Mennonite Church in Shipshewana with Pastor Mel Eash, Pastor Menno Mullet and Pastor Calvin Borntrager officiating.
Burial will be in Townline Cemetery, Shipshewana.
