Jessie Ott, 92, Sturgis, Mich., died Monday, December 5, 2011 at Thurston Woods Village.
She was born November 19, 1919, in Petoskey, Mich., to James and Mae (Wilkinson) Houts.
Living in Sturgis, Mich., for most of her life, she made ammunition at Wade Electric during WWII, worked at Hardings Grocery, and was a cook at various restaurants in Sturgis, Mich.
She was married December 26, 1946, in Angola, Ind., to Frederick A. Ott. He preceded her in death on November 2, 2007.
Surviving are four sons, Alan (Marilyn) Ott, LaGrange, Melvin Ott, Dowagiac, Mich., John (Ann) Ott, Barnwell, S.C., and David Ott, Winston Salem, N.C.; one daughter, Janice Ott, Sturgis, Mich.; 11 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Ray Houts, and three sisters, Alice Gouin, Roline Case, and Effie Darling.
Services were held Thursday, December 8, at Hackman Family Funeral Home Rosenberg Chapel in Sturgis, Mich., with Reverend James Bender officiating.
Burial is in Oak Lawn Cemetery, Sturgis, Mich.
