Jay Edwin Reidenbach, 92, Topeka, died Tuesday, June 10, 2014 at Parkview LaGrange Hospital.
He was born December 29, 1921, in Elkhart Township, Noble County, Ind., to Edward Clayton and Opha (Russell) Reidenbach.
He was a 1940 graduate of Wawaka High School and was a World War II veteran, serving in the U.S. Army. He was a life-long farmer in the Wawaka area, living and working all his life on the Reidenbach Homestead Farm which was established in 1844. He was a past member of the Wawaka American Legion Post.
He was married November 20, 1949 to Jean Louise Winebrenner. She survives.
Also surviving are two daughters, Anne Reidenbach, Wolcottville, and Maureen Reidenbach, Ft. Wayne, Ind.; two sons and daughters-in-law, David and Myrna Reidenbach, Wawaka, Ind., and John and Patrice Reidenbach, Ft. Wayne, Ind.; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Jack Reidenbach, and two sisters, Juanita Jamison and Marilyn Muhler.
Graveside services with Pastor Diane Siegel officiating and burial with military honorsby Kendallville VFW Post #2749, American Legion Post #86, Rome City American Legion Post #381, and active duty U.S. Army soldiers will be 11 a.m. Saturday, June 14, in Orange Cemetery near Rome City, Ind.
