Jason R. Potts, 37, South Milford, Ind., died Tuesday, February 4, 2014 at his residence.
He was born May 21, 1976, in Ft. Wayne, Ind., to Robert “Charlie” and Karen Sue (Marks) Potts.
Moving to Big Long Lake in 1988, he was a 1995 graduate of Prairie Heights High School and was a football coach for the middle school. He worked at A.R.I. Legacy Sleepers in Shipshewana.
He was married June 7, 2008, in LaGrange, to Marisa L. Matthes. She survives.
Also surviving are his mother and stepfather, Karen and Dave Norden, Kendallville, Ind.; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Douglas and Anne Matthes, Sturgis, Mich.; his grandmother, Evelyn “Sue” Marks, Kendallville, Ind.; one sister, Jennifer Motz, Wolcottville; two stepsisters and stepbrothers-in-law, Amanda and Thomas Standers, Greencastle, Ind., and Melissa and Michael Scott, Greencastle, Ind.; one step-brother and stepsister-in-law, Nathan and Karis Norden, Columbia City, Ind.; a sister-in-law, Torie and Bill Morr, Pretty Lake, Ind.; 14 nieces and nephews, Bailee Matthes, Braeden Morr, Brevyn Morr, Miranda Motz, Riley Motz, Alayna Motz, Faith Fear, Elijah Standers, Abigail Standers, Jennifer Scott, Allison Scott, Kelly Scott, Luc Norden, and Beau Norden; and his favorite companion, Flash.
He was preceded in death by his father, Robert “Charlie” Potts, and his grandparents, Robert and Evelyn Potts and James I. Marks Sr.
Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Friday, February 7, at LaGrange Church of God.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, February 8, at LaGrange Church of God with Reverend Russ Hepler officiating.
