Ivan W. Burger, 89, Howe, died Monday, June 18, 2012 at Froh Community Home in Sturgis, Mich.
He was born December 14, 1922, in Brighton, to Clemon and Mary (Light) Burger.
He was a graduate of Brighton High School and was a farmer all of his life, owning and operating FBI Farms in Howe. He attended Pretty Prairie Church in Brighton and was a former member of the Farm Bureau Board of Directors, former member of the Lakeland School Board, and very active in LaGrange County 4-H, where he showed grand champion steers and was a big supporter.
He was married May 18, 1945, in Howe, to Thelma Bontrager. She survives in Howe.
Also surviving are one son, Fred Burger, Howe; two daughters, Linda Burger and Susan Burger, both of Howe; seven grandchildren; 14 great- grandchildren; and one sister, Ruth Blosser, Goshen.
He is preceded in death by one great-granddaughter, Dottie Weaver, and three brothers, Glen, Wilbur and Marvin Burger.
Memorial services will be held at a later date.
