Ira E. Mullet, 84, Topeka, died Wednesday, May 2, 2012 at his residence.
He was born January 29, 1928, in Yoder, Kan., to Enos N. and Polly (Bontrager) Mullet.
Moving to Indiana at the age of 15, he was a farmer, worked at Topeka Seed for 17 years, and was currently owner-operator of a craft shop. He was a member and ordained minister of the Old Order Amish Church, ordained on October 15, 1989.
He was married April 27, 1950 to Wilma Schlabach. She preceded him in death on March 28, 1956. He was married April 3, 1958, in Topeka, to Mattie Schlabach. She survives.
Also surviving are five daughters, Polly Anna (Melvin W.) Yoder, LaGrange, Emma (Herman J.) Miller, Topeka, Kathryn Sue (Phil) Hochstetler, Nappanee, Dorothy (John E.) Mullett, Millersburg, and Edna Fern (Kenneth W.) Miller, Millersburg; six sons, LeRoy (Naomi) Mullet, Topeka, Vernon R. (Ruby L.) Mullet, LaGrange, Wayne (Wilma S.) Mullet, Topeka, Calvin J. (JoAnn) Mullet, Middlebury, and twins Marvin (Miriam) Mullet and Marion (Sharon K.) Mullet, both of Shipshewana; a daughter-in-law, Arlene Mullet, Topeka; 70 grandchildren; 120 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Sarah (Noah) Yoder, Chouteau, Okla., and Clara Beechy, Centerville, Mich.; a sister-in-law, Sarah Mullet, Goshen; and one brother, Albert (Rosie) Mullet, Millersburg.
He was preceded in death by one son, Ervin Mullet, five grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, five brothers, Melvin, Enos, Jacob, Noah and Ezra Mullet, and one sister Mary.
Visitation is after 1 p.m. Thursday, May 3, and all day Friday, May 4, at the family residence, 5420S 400W in Topeka.
Services will be 9:30 a.m. Saturday, May 5, at the family residence, 5420S 400W in Topeka, with Bishop Harvey Lambright and home ministers officiating.
Burial will be in Miller Cemetery, LaGrange.
