Indiana FFA members eligible for scholarships

 

Monty’s Plant Food Company, a manufacturer of plant and soil enhancement products for the agriculture, industry based in Louisville, Ky., is now accepting applications from Indiana students for four $1,000 college scholarships.  The awards will be made in conjunction with the National FFA Organization to high school seniors who are members of FFA.

To be eligible, students must also meet criteria including:

·    Resides in Indiana;

·    Lives on a family farm;

·    Plans to pursue post-secondary education and study agronomy and crop science, sustainable agriculture, soil science or soil conservation;

·    Has a minimum high school GPA of 3.25;

·    Has participated in community service;

Scholarship applications are available online at www.ffa.org/scholarships.  The deadline to apply is Feb. 15, 2013. The Monty’s Plant Food Company scholarships will be awarded in May 2013.

Each year, the National FFA Organization awards approximately $2 million in scholarships sponsored by businesses and individuals through the National FFA Foundation.  Scholarships are awarded for a wide variety of experiences, career goals and higher education plans.  Students can complete one application to be considered for all scholarships offered through the National FFA Organization.
