Idella Mae Kauffman, 88, died Sunday, May 4, 2014 at Grace Village Health Care of Winona Lake, Ind.
She was born December 5, 1925, in LaGrange County, to William Carl and Ora Idella (Updike) Sigler.
Living in Kosciusko County, Ind., for the past 26 years, she was a 1943 graduate of Topeka High School and trained as a nurse for two years in South Bend, Ind. She was a clerk for many years at the LaGrange County Courthouse and also worked at the Kosciusko County Historical Society in Warsaw, Ind. She was a member of Abundant Life Assembly of God in Warsaw, Ind.
She was married April 2, 1949 to Roy Devon Kauffman. He preceded her in death on August 8, 1998.
Surviving are one daughter, Pat (husband Del) Miller, Shipshewana; one son, Tom (wife Amy) Kauffman, Toledo, Ohio; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and one sister, Phyllis (husband Bill) Kaser, Ranlo, N.C.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters.
Funeral service was held Thursday, May 8, at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home in Warsaw, Ind., with Pastor Ray Hansen officiating.
Burial is in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw, Ind.
