Howe tops Mendon

Arnas Zabaurauskas poured in 44 points in leading The Howe School to an 85-70 varsity boys basketball victory over Mendon, Michigan Monday night in Howe.

Zabaurauskas canned 16 field goals -- including three from behind the three-point line – and went 9-11 from the foul stripe to finish with 44 markers, just one shy of the Wildcat single-game record. The 6-6 junior forward also hauled down nine rebounds.

Howe led by six (57-51) going into the fourth quarter. The Wildcats then sealed their fourth win of the campaign with a 28-19 surge in the final stanza.

Conner Geiser delivered 20 points and four assists to the Howe ledger. Renatas Issak managed to net 10 points and six rebounds while battling through some foul trouble. Henrikas Gelgota dealt out six assists.

John Sears led Mendon with 15 points.
