Howard Lloyd Trowbridge,90, Kendallville, died Monday, June 25, 2012 at Miller's Merry Manor of LaGrange.
He was born February 21, 1922, in Kendallville, to Herbert Forrest Trowbridge and Ruth Martha (Smith) Trowbridge.
He was a 1940 graduate of Kendallville High School and was a WWII veteran, serving in the U.S. Navy from September 1942 until October 1945, in the South Pacific. He worked for McCray Refrigeration in Kendallville until they closed in 1973. He then went to work for Anderson Automation in Grandville, Mich., until retiring in 1985. He was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Corunna and was a member of Kendallville American Legion Post 86 for over 60 years.
He was married July 19, 1942 in Kendallville, to Marie Josephine Snyder. She preceded him in death on May 23, 2012.
Surviving are one son and daughter-in-law, John and Cheryl Trowbridge, LaGrange;
one daughter and son-in-law, Cheryl and Dwayne Thomas, Woodstock, Ga.; four grandchildren, Steve and Kara Trowbridge, Brandi and Ben Huth, Heather and Bill Pequignot, and Matthew and Fran Thomas; and seven great-grandchildren.
Visitation is noon-1 p.m. Saturday, June 30, at Hite Funeral Home in Kendallville.
Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday, June 30, at Hite Funeral Home in Kendallville with Reverend Al Wingfield officiating.
Burial with honor guard services by Rome City American Legion Post 381 and Kendallville VFW Post 2749 will be in Lake View Cemetery, Kendallville.
