Helen Rinkel

Helen Lee Rinkel, 85, Howe, died Tuesday, February 24, 2015 at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Ft. Wayne, Ind.

    She was born October 4, 1929, in Belfre, Kan., to George W. and Edna Lee (Higgins) Stricklin.

    She was a homemaker and part owner of Greenfield Mills New Rinkel Flour for 65 years.  She was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Angola, Ind., where she was active in church activities, choir, women’s ministries, and was a Sunday School teacher.

    She was married August 7, 1949, in Prescott, Kan., to Howard G. Rinkel. He preceded her in death on November 21, 2002.

    Surviving are one daughter, Joyce Rinkel, Howe; three sons and daughters-in-law, Hal and Linda Rinkel, LaPorte, Ind., Danny and Marilyn Rinkel, Howe, and David and Mary Rinkel, Howe; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Loreta Tiemann, Lincoln, Neb.

    She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Nita Mae Biery.

    Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Monday, March 2, at Faith Baptist Church in Angola, Ind.

    Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 3, at Faith Baptist Church in Angola, Ind., with Pastor J. Arnold Fair officiating.

    Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, Orland, Ind.
