Heights boys roll over Bethany Christian

The Prairie Heights varsity boys basketball team completed a very successful weekend Saturday night in Brushy Prairie by taking apart Bethany Christian, 70-41.

Coach Brett Eltzroth’s squad, coming off a big, 68-66 triumph over NECC rival Fairfield the night before, jumped all over the Bruins in the first period, out scoring the visitors, 28-14. Spurts of 21-14 and 17-5 in the next two frames allowed Heights to build a 66-33 cushion heading into the fourth quarter.

Cody Bachelor led a 10-player Panther scoring attack with 20 points. Jacob Heller was next with 16 markers and Kyler West added 15.

Also tallying for Prairie Heights were Bobby Blum with five, Zach Shepard with four and Corey Johnson, Dylan Stayner, Levi Tuckerman and Austin Beiswanger all with two.

Sol Brenneman swished 14 points and Abe Thorne sank 12 for Bethany.
