Harvey S. Farmwald, 80, Shipshewana, died Friday, November 18, 2011 at his residence.
He was born November 21, 1930, in LaGrangeCounty, to Samuel D. and Anna (Miller) Farmwald.
He was a farmer and did carpentry work. He was a member of the Old Order Amish Church, serving as a deacon for 53 years.
He was marriedJanuary 15, 1952, in LaGrange County, to Edna Bontrager. She survives.
Also surviving are three daughters, Arlene (Atlee) Miller, Hillsboro, Wisc., Sueann (Paul) Bontrager, Middlebury, and Erma (Vernon) Miller, Goshen; two sons, Delbert (Linda) Farmwald and David (Carolyn) Farmwald, both of Shipshewana; 30 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Ada Schwartz, Vicksburg, Mich.He was preceded in death by one son, Marvin Farmwald, one daughter, Ruby Farmwald, and two sisters, Alta Raber and Susie Lehman.
Services were heldSunday, November 20, at the family residence, 9635 W. SR 120 in Shipshewana, with Bishop Orley Bontrager and Home Ministers officiating.Burial is in Naylor Cemetery, Shipshewana.
Miller-Stewart Funeral Home in Middlebury was in charge of arrangements.
