GriefShare to begin

Prince of Peace Lutheran Church near Stroh is forming a grief support group in April using GriefShare. The GriefShare group at Prince of Peace is for those in Northeast Indiana who have lost a spouse, child, family member or friend, and who desire support and encouragement from others during this time of grieving.

GriefShare is a friendly, caring group of people who will walk alongside you through one of life’s most difficult experiences.

The GriefShare group at Prince of Peace will meet weekly for 10 weeks beginning April 4. Each session will have three distinct elements: A video seminar with experts who have personally experienced the death of loved ones; group discussion of video with focus on personal applications; and workbook-based personal study and reflection to complete during the week. There is a cost for the workbooks.

The GriefShare group at Prince of Peace will meet on Thursdays from 10 a.m. to noon beginning April 4 and concluding June 13.

The GriefShare group at Prince of Peace will be led by Joann Grepke. She has served as a hospice chaplain in Northeast Indiana and has significant training in grief counseling and has also facilitated several grief support groups in the Kendallville area.

Many people who have lost a loved one often find there are not many people who understand the deep hurt they feel. But no one has to go through the grieving process alone. GriefShare is a friendly, caring group of people who will walk alongside you through one of life’s most difficult experiences. It may be hard for you to feel optimistic about the future right now.

“This can be a confusing time when you feel isolated and have many questions about things you’ve never faced before,” said Grepke. “GriefShare offers the love of Christ and the care of the church for those in need,” added Pastor Jim Elsner, minister at Prince of Peace.

Prince of Peace Lutheran Church is located at 10275E 550S in Hudson, three miles southwest of Stroh, just north of Big Long Lake.
