Goshen girls overcome Lakeland

Deja Felder racked up 20 points, nine rebounds, six steals and five assists in powering Goshen to a season-opening, 42-32 varsity girls basketball victory over visiting Lakeland Tuesday evening.

The Lady Redskins built leads of 11-5 and 27-12 through the initial two period breaks. Lakeland cut the difference to eight (34-26) with a 14-7 rally in the third quarter, but could draw no closer.

Aylissa Trosper backed up Felder on the Goshen scoresheet with nine points.

Topping the Lady Laker scoring ledger with nine markers was Abi Thompson. The junior also grabbed six rebounds.

Carlee Richardson pitched in six points and five boards to the Lakeland effort. Rebecca Levitz added six points, Ashtin Kaminer four steals and Blake Mullet two assists.
