Golda Irene Russell, 89, Wolcottville, died Sunday, Sept. 1, 2013, at Lutheran Life Villages in Kendallville, Ind.
She was born February 29, 1924, in Kendallville, Ind., to Henry and Dorothy (Hill) McCreary.
Living in the area for all but 10 years of her life, when she resided in Florida, she worked at several area factories including McCray Refrigeration, where she worked for 31 years, and Monsanto for 10 years. She was a member of Woodruff Grove United Methodist Church, Lady Lake United Methodist Church in Lady Lake, Fla., and two square dancing clubs in the Kendallville area, and was a secretary for the McCray Union.
She was married in 1940 to Eldon Robert Russell Sr. He preceded her in death on May 31, 2006.
Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, John and Judy Russell, Wolcottville, and Eldon Jr. and Jan Russell, Wolcottville; one daughter and son-in-law, Judith and Larry Bruner, Wolcottville; 14 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Harold McCreary, Summerfield, Fla., and David and Mary McCreary, Wakarusa, Ind.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Betty Bainter, and a sister-in-law, Margaret McCreary.
Memorial service will be conducted at a later date in Florida.
