Glenn Jay Miller, 84, of Middlebury, died at on Monday, December 26, at his daughter’s home in Middlebury.
He was born on February 10, 1927, in Middlebury, to Milo D. and Bessie Mae (Cooprider) Miller.
On September 23, 1945 in Goshen, he married Ruth L. Haney; she died February 16, 2008.
Surviving is a daughter, Sheree L. (Scott) Crist of Middlebury.
He was preceded in death by his wife, both parents and two sisters, Ferne Grabill, and Elberta Berry.
Glenn was a WWII Army Veteran discharged in 1947; he served as a Staff Sergeant for the US Signal Corp.
He was a member of the American Legion Post 210 and the Middlebury Church of the Brethren. He had worked for NIPSCO for 34 years retiring as a gas service man, and also worked for Middlebury Dairy for 10 years.
He graduated from Middlebury High School in 1945 and was involved with starting the Middlebury Little League program, Middlebury History Book and the Middlebury Historical Museum.
Visitation will be from 4:00 -7:00 p.m. on Thursday December 29, at Miller-Stewart Funeral Home, 1003 South Main Street Middlebury. A private graveside service with Military Honors performed by the American Legion Post 210 will be held at a later date in Grace Lawn Cemetery, Middlebury.
