Glen Oaks announces scholarship availability

 

Glen Oaks Community College is accepting scholarship applications from the high school graduating class of 2013.

Area high school seniors with a grade point average of 3.0 or higher may apply for a Dean’s Scholarship. The award may be used for all education-related expenses up to $2,000 each year, renewable for the second year if the student is attending full-time and maintains a 3.0 GPA at GOCC.

Students with a 3.5 GPA or higher may apply for a Presidential Scholarship. This scholarship may be used for all education-related expenses up to $4,000 each year, renewable for the second year if the student is attending full-time and maintains a 3.5 GPA at Glen Oaks.

“Glen Oaks is pleased to be able to award $80,000 in Presidential and Dean’s scholarships each year,” says Dr. Gary Wheeler, president, GOCC.  “As part of our commitment to students, we will continue to award area students with scholarships based on their high school academic achievements.”

Application packets are available from the home page of the Glen Oaks website at www.glenoaks.edu. Contact the Financial Aid Office with questions by calling 467-9945 ext. 260. Office hours are 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday. Qualifying candidates must submit all the necessary materials by 4 p.m., Mon., March 11, at 4 p.m.
