Gertrude Marie Gilson, 91, Middlebury, died Monday, November 19, 2012 at her residence.
She was born November 11, 1921, in Hartville, Ohio, to Daniel D. and Emma (Hochstetler) Troyer.
She worked in the kitchen at Goshen General Hospital from 1979-1990 and attended Griner Mennonite Church.
She was married July 6, 1939, in New Castle, Penn., to William Glenn Gilson. He preceded her in death on October 17, 1983.
Surviving are five daughters, Virginia (Willie) Barfield, Pelham, Ga., Marjorie (Moses) Troyer, Goshen, Laura (Jeff) Zimmerman, Middlebury, Dorothy (Robert) Hall, Astor, Fla., and Janet Hall, Rome, Ohio; four sons, Robert (YaVonne) Gilson, San Antonio, Texas, William (Debra) Gilson, Shipshewana, Daniel (Tonna) Gilson, Syracuse, Ind., and David Gilson, Middlebury; 40 grandchildren, 79 great-grandchildren, 27 great-great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Valentine (Lizzie) Troyer and Eli Troyer, both of Middlefield, Ohio.
She was preceded in death by parents, four grandchildren, Robert Hall, Lisa Hall, Ryan Gilson, and Colby Gilson, one great-grandchild, Carson Boley, five brothers, Mose, Mike, David, Albert and William Troyer and one sister, Susan Troyer.
Services were held Saturday, November 24, at Griner Mennonite Church in Middlebury with Reverend John Yoder and Reverend Robert Riegsecker officiating.
Burial is in Miller Cemetery, Goshen.
