Gene H. Thomason, 85, of LaGrange, died Friday December 27, 2013 at Miller’s Merry Manor.
He moved to the area from Fort Wayne in 1975. Gene worked as a Radar Technician for the FAA. He attended the LaGrange Presbyterian Church.
Gene was a veteran of the Korean War serving in the Army.
He was born on June 8, 1928 in B Branch, Arkansas, to Roy and Girthel (Pike) Thomason.
On February 12, 1955 he married Anna J. Greer in Detroit, Mich. She survives in LaGrange.
Also surviving are his two daughters, Dr. Reda Deanette Anderton of Akron, Penn., and Cameroon, Africa; D’Ann Pennington of Kansas City, Mo., and a son, Roy Dale (Marsha) Thomason of Middleburg, Fla., eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild; three sisters, Winnie Middaugh of Utica, Mich.; Billie Nowlin of Shreveport, La.; Geneva Holifield of Jonesboro, Ark.; and a brother, Harrell Thomason, San Diego, Cal.
Preceding Gene in death are his parents and two brothers, Winfred and Cecil Thomason.
Funeral Services will be held at 11a.m. on Saturday, January 4, 2014 at the LaGrange Presbyterian Church.
The Rev. Kenneth Weaver will be officiating.
Visitation will be held at the Frurip-May Funeral Home, 309 West Michigan St., on Friday, January 3rd from 3-6 p.m.
Burial will take place in Greenwood Cemetery, LaGrange, with Military Rites by the LaGrange American Legion Post 215.
