Garrett pounded out 14 hits en route to an 11-8 victory over host Prairie Heights in varsity softball action Wednesday night.
After watching the Lady Panthers draw within one (5-4) on a two-run homer off the bat of Kayla Feeney in the bottom of the third inning, the Lady Railroaders tallied a run in the fourth and five more in the fifth to go back up by seven (11-4). Heights responded with four runs of its own in the bottom of the fifth, but could not push any more markers across.
Kristian Miller cracked two hits and drove in two runs for the 8-11 Lady Panthers. Kara Gunthorp also slapped a couple of safeties, while Taryn Neff, Taryn Terry and Jordan Engle-Walworth all poked RBI hits.
Neff suffered the pitching loss. She struckout three and walked one in seven innings.
