LaGrange native Shane Fry, now the head football coach at West Lafayette High School, has been named the winner of the Indianapolis Colts/NFL Coach of the Week award.
Fry, a 1997 graduate of Lakeland High School, guided the Red Devils to a 34-10 victory at Tipton last Friday night. The win improved West Lafayette to 5-0 on the season. The Red Devils are ranked No. 4 in Class 3A in the first year under Fry.
For his achievement, Fry will receive a framed certificate signed by NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell, Colts head coach Chuck Pagano, Colts general manager Ryan Grigson and Colts Youth Football Commissioner Mike Prior. West Lafayette will receive $1000 donations from both the NFL Foundation and from Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield to the school’s athletic fund.
