Fremont held off Lakeland, 44-39 in NECC girls basketball Saturday evening in the Eagles Nest.
Trailing 16-10 after two quarters, the visiting Lady Lakers put together a 16-10 spurt in the third period to knot the count at 26-all. But Fremont regrouped and outscored Lakeland, 18-13 in the final eight minutes to secure the win.
Miranda White tallied 15 points and hauled down 11 rebounds to lead the Lady Eagle attack. Liz Carlson delivered 14 points and Kaitlin Kobelak dished out four assists for the victors.
Lauren McKibben continued her fine play for the Lady Lakers by scoring 15 points and dealing two assists. Abi Thompson recorded 10 markers, Ashtin Kaminer six rebounds and Kaity Sams two helpers.
