Fremont girls sneak past Lakeland

Fremont edged Lakeland, 34-33 in NECC girls basketball action Saturday night in Fremont.

The Lady Eagles used a 14-4 spurt in the fourth quarter to erase a 29-20 Lakeland advantage at the start of the frame. The Lady Lakers earned their nine-point lead with an 11-0 run in the third period.

Shae Rhonehouse paced Fremont with 19 points and 10 rebounds. Just a sophomore, Rhonehouse also made four steals.

Ashtin Kaminer collected 14 points, six rebounds, six steals and three assists to spearhead the Lakeland effort. Abi Thompson chipped in nine markers and nine boards.

The result left the Lady Lakers with a 2-2 league mark and a 4-4 overall slate.
