Fremont downed Lakeland, 52-40 in NECC girls basketball play Saturday night in LaGrange.
Leading by a point (27-26) at halftime, the visiting Lady Eagles put together a 13-6 run in the third period to build a 40-32 advantage. They then put the game away by out scoring the hosts, 12-8 in the final stanza.
Miranda White led a balanced Fremont scoring attack with 12 points. Netting 11 markers apiece were Caitlin Loffer and Kelsey Sichling.
Shea Rhonehouse hauled down 14 rebounds for the Lady Eagles, part of a 52-23 edge on the glass for the victors. Sichling snatched 13 caroms and White 10.
Abi Thompson delivered 14 points and five rebounds to the Lakeland ledger. Ashtin Kaminer finished with 13 points and eight steals. Carlee Richardson collected four assists.
The setback left the Lady Lakers 1-3 in the NECC and 1-6 overall.
