Freida Raber

Freida Marie Raber, 75, Middlebury, died Wednesday, November 8, 2017 at Parkview LaGrange Hospital.

    She was born March 9, 1942, in LaGrange County, to Mahlon and Lizzie (Schrock) Hostetler.

    She was a homemaker and worked at Jojo’s Pretzels in Shipshewana for several years. She was a member of the Old Order Amish Church.

    She was married December 6, 1962, in LaGrange County, to Mahlon Raber. He survives.

    Also surviving are four daughters, LeAnna (Levi) Bontrager and Treva (David) Lambright, both of Shipshewana, Erma (Jonas Jr.) Miller, Millersburg, Ind., and Leah (Dennis) Hochstetler, Bremen, Ind.; three sons, Willard (Linda) Raber, Shipshewana, Maynard (Darlene) Raber, Middlebury, and Mahlon Jr. (Jamie) Raber, Ligonier, Ind.; 18 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; four sisters, Ida Frey, Ligonier, Ind., Orpha Miller, Shipshewana, Lizzie A. Lehman, Topeka, and Leah F. Hostetler, Shipshewana; and two brothers, Daniel Hostetler, Shipshewana, and LaVern Hostetler, Anderson, Ind.

    She was preceded in death by her parents, four sisters, Nina Hostetler, Anna Miller, Mary E. Eash, and Mabel Mast, and two brothers, David and Eldon Hostetler.

    Funeral service was held Saturday, November 11, at the Mervin Wingard residence, 635N 1000W in Shipshewana, with Bishop Wilbur E. Miller and home ministers officiating.

    Burial is in Forks Cemetery, Middlebury.
