Freeman M. Lehman

Freeman M. Lehman, 75, of Shipshewana, died on Wednesday, December 25, at Parkview Regional Medical Center, Fort Wayne, after suffering a heart attack earlier in the day at his home.

He was born on January 8, 1938 in Lagrange, to Mahlon J. and Annie (Mast) Lehman.

On February 6, 1958 he married Susie Bontrager, she survives.

Survivors in addition to his wife are two daughters, Katie Fern (Mervin) Miller of Ligonier, Ind.; Mary Esther (Ernest) Beechy of Shipshewana; six sons, Daniel (Edna) Lehman of Topeka, Floyd (LeEtta) Lehman of Shipshewana, Wilbur (Jennifer) Lehman of Sarasota, FL, Freeman (Mary Sue) Lehman Jr. of Shipshewana, Joas (Mary Sue) Lehman of Topeka, Norman F. Lehman of Topeka; 47 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren; three sisters, Mary (Daniel) Yoder of Middlebury, Arlene (Perry) Miller of Lagrange, Ida Mae (Lloyd) Miller of Goshen, Ind.; three brothers, Orva (Mary) Lehman of Middlebury, Ernest (Ellen) Lehman of Middlebury, Ind., LeRoy (Joanne) Lehman of Millersburg, Ind.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Ernest F. Lehman, two great grandchildren. He was a farmer, carpenter, and a member of the Old Order Amish Church.

Funeral services were on Saturday December 28, at the Levi Lee Beachy residence, 2685 S. 1000 W. Shipshewana. Services were conducted by Bishop Wilbur Yoder and the home ministers.

 Burial was in Bontrager Cemetery, Shipshewana.
