Frederick Donald “Lil Fred” Sturdivant, 18, Middlebury, formerly of Rome City, died Thursday, March 28, 2013, in Bristol.
He was born April 9, 1994, in Kendallville, to Frederick Earl and Angela “Annie” (Wertz) Sturdivant.
He had attended East Noble High School and lived in Middlebury for a year. He worked at Keystone in Goshen.
Surviving are his mother and stepfather, Angela “Annie” and Troy Hedges, Middlebury; his father and stepmother, Frederick Earl “Big Fred” and Dee Dee Sturdivant, LaGrange; his girlfriend, Sherie Shalley, Goshen, and her daughter, Maci; one son, Frederick D. Sturdivant, due on May 27, 2013; seven sisters, Chelsea (Nathaniel) Sturdivant-Martin, Oak Grove, Ky., Sydnee King, Ft. Wayne, Catrina (Andy) Bontrager, Goshen, Candice (Nate) Trejo, Ligonier, Kelsey (Jeremy) Frey, Topeka, Kaitlin Hedges, Ligonier, and Kayla Hudson, Kendallville; one brother, Ford King, Ft. Wayne; grandparents Lois Wertz, Rome City, and Frank Sr. and Shirley Sturdivant, Rome City; stepgrandparents John and Jan Diller, Ft. Wayne, and Gordon Jordan, Rome City; two nephews, Caden Martin and Karl Hedges-Baker; two nieces, Melody Bontrager and Trinity Bontrager; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Ora Donald Wertz.
Visitation is 2 to 10 p.m. Tuesday, April 2, at Five Corners Baptist Church in Wolcottville. An evening service will be held at 6 p.m.
Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 3, at Five Corners Baptist Church in Wolcottville with Pastor Clarence Combs and Pastor Wade Sturdivant officiating.
Burial will be in Orange Cemetery, Rome City.
