Franklin L. Kline, 79, LaGrange, died Wednesday, February 5, 2014 at Parkview LaGrange Hospital.
He was born February 23, 1934, in Kendallville, Ind., to Carl “Hap” and Lola Marie (Miller) Kline.
He lived in the LaGrange area for 20 years, coming from Sylvan Lake. He was a Korean War veteran, serving in the U.S. Army. His first job was as a dishwasher and he retired in 1997 from the recreational and boat industry.
Surviving are one daughter, Ginny (Randy) Dickerhoof, Kendallville, Ind.; one son, Jeffrey (Marcia) Kline, Kendallville, Ind.; four stepdaughters, Florence McKinsey, Jacque Smith, Carrie Web, and Geraldine Canfield; two stepsons, Elvin Williams and Ronald Williams; two sisters, Patricia (Russell) Scofield, Howe, and Barbara Owsley, Wolcottville; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; family friend Annie Radley, LaGrange; and his cat, Fanci.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Dolores (Wilson) Kline, his second wife, Ola Fay (Napier) Kline, one son, Timothy W. Kline, one stepdaughter, Gail Williams, one sister, Josephine Becker, four brothers, Raymond Kline, Oscar Kline, Billy Kline, and Carl Kline, and one great-granddaughter.
Memorial service was held Sunday, February 9, at Young Family Funeral Home Kendallville Chapel.
