Frank D. Pierce, 88, Stroudsburg, Penn., died Saturday, September 28, 2013, at Pocono Medical Center.
He was born June 1, 1925 to Robert and Alma (Forst) Pierce.
Raised in Stroh, he raised nine children with his wife, Rita J. (Fett) Pierce. He was a factory production manager and a Pennsylvania Department of Revenue auditor. He was a World War II veteran, serving in the U.S. Navy in the Pacific theater. He received a Bachelor's degree from Indiana University in Bloomington, Ind., where he met his wife.
Surviving are seven sons and four daughters-in-law, Robert Pierce, Denver, Colo., Greg Pierce, Silver Spring, Md., David and Mary Pierce, Delaware Water Gap, Penn., William and Sue Pierce, Boyertown, Penn., Richard and Bonnie Pierce, Snydersville, Penn., Matthew and Jennifer Pierce, Bloomington, Ind., and Michael Pierce, Stroudsburg, Penn.; one daughter, Janet Pierce Angradi, Stroudsburg, Penn.; 11 grandchildren, Adam O'Neil, Kevin O'Neil, Melody Pierce, Christy Pierce, Laurie Pierce, Matthew Pierce, Eli Angradi, Benjamin Pierce, Katrina Pierce, Jacob Angradi and Becky Pierce.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Rita, one son, James, one brother, Gerald Pierce, and two sisters, Mary Jean Pierce and Kathryn Pierce Reed.
Burial will be at Laurelwood Cemetery in Stroudsburg.
