Do you dream? I guess I do. My town mom said I was dreaming while asleep on her lap this week. She thinks I was probably chasing bunnies or turkeys or maybe even deer. She said I was running hard but not getting anywhere and that I was also yipping in my sleep. She sort of chuckled when she was telling me. I wish I could remember that. Do you dream?
Wow, zow, what a nice weekend! I was on the boat with my lake mom and looking pretty good in my new life jacket. I even got to swim some – yes, I had my life jacket on. I think I could swim without it but my lake mom doesn’t want to take any chances. I am glad because I don’t like to put my head under the water.
My friends at the sanctuary say we still have lots of cats. I hope you know that all you need to do to have a nice cat is fill out an adoption form and give a donation. I would sure like to see more of my cat friends find homes. You may want to think about it.
This is the time of year to remind you of making sure you have fresh water out for your pet. It is important to change it every day. Gertie loves ice cubes. You might try giving your dog one on the days it is really hot. Or you can freeze some water in a small container and then let them play with it and it will help cool them off. I am not much into this, but my best friend Gertie loves it.
If you are at the flea market in Shipshewana, stop by Booth 507 near Gate 11 and tell us hi. We have some really neat stuff there, and if you stop it will be neater. The Paws and Claws Bookstore now has coffee and donuts on Saturdays. Hmmm, who doesn’t like donuts?
I gave my town mom a gift this week. It was a gift that she really didn’t appreciate. I got into some three-leaf or maybe it was five-leaf green stuff in the woods and now my town mom has these red bumps on her face. I didn’t know I was giving her anything, and when I hear her talk about it I don’t think it was a good thing.
Give your best friend a pat and tell them you love them. We like to hear that.
Quote of the week: Compassion for animals is intimately connected with goodness of character and it may be confidently asserted that he who is cruel to animals cannot be a good man. – Schopenhauer
