Four legs, a lick and a wag

Hi, friends

I slicked back my hair a little, combed my ears, snapped my harness to make sure it was snug and straight and looking good, put a smile on my face and off my town mom and I went to Wolcott Mills School to collect $361.77 the Bulldogs collected for all my friends at the sanctuary. I don’t mind telling you it was awesome!

They did something I have never heard of before – a pep session. Something to do with ISTEP and, of course, me. I liked the me part really well. I got so many pats I could be set for a very long time, but you know a guy can’t get too many pats. Thank you Bulldogs for your help. I would love to come back again. It was lots of fun. Good luck on your ISTEP tests.

You know about St. Patrick’s Day, right? And you know about the coloring of the dogs for St. Patrick’s Day, right? If not, you can go to the website, www.arkanimalrescue.weebly.com, and get the pages there. But do you know about the St. Patrick’s Day famous poem? My town mom and I worked on the wording just a little.

Irish Dog Blessing

May your owner greet you with open arms, May the storms of the past be at your back.

May the sunshine warm upon your face, And food fill your bowl each night.

And until we meet again, May God hold you in the palm of His hand.

May God be with you and bless you; May you see your puppies be healthy,

May you be poor in mistreatment, Rich in love. May you know nothing but security

From this day forward. May your owner greet you with open arms,

May the storms of the past be at your back. May the sunshine warm upon your face

And the hand of a faithful owner always pat you. May green be the grass you love to roll on, May blue be the skies you love. May pure be the joys of a new home. May true be the heart that found you.

Here is a pretty cool story about a king penguin. This 10-year-old king penguin was rescued from a fisherman's line and refused to leave after he was healed. He was adopted by a family in a small town in Japan and became a beloved pet that has his own personal air-conditioned cold room. Lala is so smart – he walks to the fish store with his little backpack to shop for fresh fish every day. You’re gonna love this little video!Check it out at www.flixxy. com/pet-penguin-goes-shopping. htm.

Tip of the week: Only 10 days until spring and yes, I am counting. It is also that time of the year when you need to make sure you have a supply of flea and tick preventative and, of course, you should also be giving your best friend heartworm preventative all year long. Don’t delay, just as Nike says, “DO IT.”

Happy Shamrocks on the 17th and don’t forget to wear your green! I am looking for a green bowtie.
