Do you know how many days until spring? I DO! It is 45 and can’t come soon enough!
I must admit I do like running through the snow and hearing my moms laugh about all the snow “bunnies” in my fur. I don’t quite understand it, because I know I don’t think I have any bunnies in my fur because if I did I would be chasing them. Snow bunnies must be different than just bunnies. I am warm, have my family and enough to eat so I am trying very hard to not complain, but 45 days is circled on my calendar, and I am on countdown.
I have been hearing people talk about someone named Phil that lives in the east someplace and comes outside every February 2 to check out the weather. I guess if he sees his shadow we get more snow. I really wonder how this works? If I was in charge I would make sure he never saw his shadow. And something else I don’t understand, if he lives in the east and the sun is shining there but not here, then what? Humans, they are hard to understand sometimes but I still love them.
We are going to have a great week because my friend Sir Bentley is staying with my town mom. He is a wild one. He jumps and jumps and circles around and acts like a crazy man sometimes. He runs through the snow like a bulldozer and he is only about my size. It is okay with me because then it is easier for me to get through the snow. I don’t think he has quite figured that out yet. You know I am a little older so I am after all a little wiser.
Actually I learned it from Lucy and Gertie, but don’t tell Bentley that. We have just a tiny conflict. You see, my town mom’s lap is mine. Bentley thinks it is his as well. Sometimes I am okay with that but after all, I was first and I really like that time I sit on her lap and snuggle. I will be trying very hard this week to share. I really want to be a good host. There is really room for both of us but it is kind of a juggling act to get the right spot.
Valentine’s Day is coming just in case you don’t know. My town mom explained it to me so it might be fun for you to let me know why you love your person so much. I have begun to keep a list and will share it with you next week. Let me know all your reasons and I will be glad to share them with everyone.
Do you remember us talking about a dog named Mama? She is the gal who had 15 puppies. She has her new forever home but 10 of her puppies still need homes. I have seen them and they are cool dudes! If you are thinking about a puppy they are very ready to have their “fur-ever” home. Call the Ark Animal Sanctuary at 463-4142 and find a great pal!
Tip of the week: To keep your dog busy, buy toys with little holes in them (such as a Kong), put both big and small pieces of kibble in the toy and give it to your dog. This will keep him busy for quite a while, presuming he has a few small ones that he gets out quickly. You can also wedge dog biscuits in the holes with a smear of peanut butter.
Your “fur-ever” pal, Buddy
