My town mom laughed right out loud when I was sitting on her lap so I asked her why. This is what she said:
Picture this Buddy, a dog covered up with a blanket in a nice bed with the bed light on. A man wrote a letter to a small hotel in a Midwest town he planned to visit on his vacation. He wrote: I would very much like to bring my dog with me. He is well-groomed and very well behaved. Would you be willing to permit me to keep him in my room with me at night?
An immediate reply came from the hotel owner, who wrote: Sir: I’ve been operating this hotel for many years. In all that time I’ve never had a dog steal towels, bedclothes, silverware or pictures off the walls. I’ve never had to evict a dog in the middle of the night for being drunk and disorderly. And I’ve never had a dog run out on a hotel bill. Yes, indeed your dog is welcome at my hotel. And, if your dog will vouch for you, you’re welcome to stay here, too.”
I have done a little research on us staying in hotels and there are many now that will allow us to come as long as we behave. If you are thinking of traveling it would be a good idea to check ahead and make arrangements for your best friend to have a place to sleep as well.
Just a reminder that beginning at 6 p.m. on Tuesday night is a pet show at Lakeland High School. All the proceeds are going to the Ark Sanctuary so you will want to go and be a part of the fun and help Ark out as well.
I received a note from Cinder this week –
Hi Buddy......what’s this mom reads in the paper about ‘pig chasing.’ Sounds like you got in trouble but I’ll bet it was fun! I don’t think I’ve ever met a pig, but I’ve met horses and even a camel! There’s sure a lot of neat things to chase if given the chance. But do be careful, pigs are a lot bigger than you and me.
Guess winter is coming...the pontoon and pier are put away and we did have one short ride on the golf cart but it was chilly. Mom talks about snow coming before long, but I’m not sure I remember what it is. I know I do like it when mom turns on the fireplace and I lay down in front of it and it keeps me really warm. Guess that’s about all for now...you take care and stay away from pigs! Love, Cinder
Thanks Cinder, always good to hear from my friends. I have heard this “s” word mentioned. That reminds me to tell my readers to make sure if their pet is outside that they have proper shelter and their water bowl is checked at least daily. I remember very well what it feels like to be cold and hungry. Please make sure my friends are safe and secure as the cold weather comes.
My town mom attended Cole Miller’s Eagle Scout ceremony. Cole’s project was the new sign at the Ark Animal Sanctuary. Check it out on our web page at www.arkanimalrescue.weebly.com. Thanks Cole, nice job!
Tip of the Week: November 3-10 is Adopt a Pet Week. What a cool idea! I wonder who thought this one up – I bet it was a dog.
Your friend, Buddy
