I received a note last week from Cinder. Thanks!! I will share it with you.
It’s been a long time since we’ve ‘talked’ so today is the day! I hope all is going well with you and you’re staying cool this summer. Hasn’t it been hot!?
My mom has had the AC on so I’ve been pretty comfortable. However........yesterday we went on the pontoon and stopped at my Aunt Karen’s and we went SWIMMING! Uck............don’t like getting wet. My mom put this awful thing on me called a life-jacket and put me on a floatie and my feet got all wet.
As if that wasn’t enough, she put me down in the water and I had to paddle like everything. I even tried biting the water but it just kept coming. Mom even held me but I was still ready to get back on the pontoon. I Love to ride on the pontoon but please...don’t make me get in the water.
I LOVE your book! It was fun reading about Aunt Karen’s cats, Lindsey (who’s in kitty heaven) Toonsie, Aries, and Tiger; plus our dog, Ned and our horse, Cherokee. My Aunt Leslie was also in the book with my cousin, Barry. Of course, I loved reading about myself and my mom. The stories are very interesting but we haven’t read them all yet. It was so nice of your moms to work so hard on the book, but then you’re worth it and it helps all the other animals that have not found their forever home. Please tell them I said THANK YOU!
Mom says it’s time to get busy so will close for now. I always enjoy hearing from you. Be safe, your friend, Cinder.
Our Pooches Paddle this past Sunday was a blast. The cooler weather didn’t keep my friends from raising money for the sanctuary. They raised $280.00 for the dogs and cats just by paddling down the river. How much easier could it be? Wiggles and Wags to all of you who participated and the Mongo River Run for supplying the canoes and kayaks. Check this out, www. arkanimalrescue.weebly.com web site for a cool picture of Maggie!
August 10th should be on your calendar! It’s the special day set aside for the official signing of the Buddy’s book at My Father’s Business in LaGrange from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. I will be there with my best shirt and I will put my best paw forward for the signing of your book. You will also be able to purchase a Buddy’s t-shirt at the store that day. I sure hope you can come.
Congratulations to Linda Neuman for being selected volunteer of the month. Linda, I sure would like to meet you some time. I hear you have been volunteering for a long time at the sanctuary. My pals there tell me you love them all. Think that could be arranged? I will have to work on that.
My land mom said they continue to need help at the flea market for August and September. She says its fun watching all the people there and sometimes even a four footed pal comes along. If you think you might be interested in helping call the Paws and Claws bookstore at 562-2100.
I think this is a wrap for this week. Be safe, always have fresh water out for my friends and remember to pat your own “buddy” on the head and tell them you love them.
