Four legs, a lick and a wag

Hi, friends

Man, do you think it is every going to warm up? I am so anxious I can almost smell the warmth! I think everyone else is anxious, too. I say, “Bring it on!”

Having said that, remember the importance of flea and tick medicine for your friends as well as heartworm preventative. Those nasty fleas and ticks can do some ugly things and I want to make sure you get to your local vet and get the medicine for your pet.

A Paws and Claws “Extended” Bookstore will be at the Shipshewana Flea Market this summer. Mark this on your calendar. The first day is May 1 and we will be at Booth 507 near Gate 11. Easy to remember because it kind of rhymes. Stop in and tell all your friends to do the same. All books will be on a donation basis just like at the regular Paws and Claws Bookstore. If you would like to help, call the bookstore at 562-2100 and let them know. I am thinking it is going to be a blast. Sure hope to see you there!

I had a new experience this week. I learned to tat. Well, not exactly, but I found the special tatting thread sitting on the table that my mom uses when she tats. It was purple and I thought it was pretty, so I jumped to the floor and started playing with it. It was about the size of a ping pong ball and it rolled and rolled and while it was rolling the thread went across the floor as well. Well, needless to say, when she returned home the thread was all over the floor in many different loops and circles and was even hanging from my little tiny beard and draped over one of my ears. All she said to me was, “Buddy, I sure hope you had fun!”

Gertie and Lucy both told me I was going to get into big trouble. Ha! I proved them wrong because when I heard her come in the back door I greeted her with a huge smile and all she could do was laugh. Gertie told me I got away with it because I am the littlest. Lucy said to me that I always get away with stuff and that it was not fair. I told them that I was a little scared but I figured wagging my tail would help, and, it DID! However, I don’t think I will do it again.

Buddy’s Bud’s Bookis moving right along. Actually it is at the publishing company right now. We are waiting on just a few loose ends, not sure what that means but that is what my mom said before we will be all done. We will be taking the books to the schools that participated in writing the stories sometime in May. The books will also be located at the Paws and Claws Bookstore, Ark Animal Sanctuary, and other places around town. I will tell you more about it closer to actually getting the book.

I hope you have a great week and remember to give your pet an extra pat and tell them you love them. Don’t forget to check out the website at www.ark animalrescue.weebly.com for some cool pictures.
