Four legs, a lick and a wag

My Dear Friends,

I want you to know, just in case you were wondering, I have become very proficient in the car with the radio system. I remember sharing with you a while back about all the buttons. I have now mastered not only the radio stations, but Sirius, the CD player and the off and on buttons. It takes real talent to be able to push all of these in the car while traveling to the woods on a daily basis. You see, I not only have the radio, but I have the windows, locks, turn signal and the emergency button. I have it mastered. I am so proud; I have mastered these on a daily basis even before we get to the woods. I will keep you posted about any new buttons later.

You have heard about Jada? She has a new home! Yes, and a new name, Bella. Well Bella, (Jada) wrote a short note this week, here it is:

My new mom thought I should have a new bed to reflect my new beginning so I'm returning the beds I took with me last Friday. And I sure wanted them all! My mom thinks my beds may have magical adoption powers. Look what they did for me! A big thank you for sending my old beds home with me, they made the transition to my new home much easier. So, just maybe, if you sleep on one of my beds, you too will find a fur-ever home. Good Luck everyone! Your friend, Bella (formerly Jada)

Bella, we can’t express our happiness for you. We are wiggling and waggling all over the place. Please keep us posted.

Now our mission is Dizzy. She is a special dog at the sanctuary. Her name tells us a little about her. She has a slight neurological problem. I really didn’t know what that was. My town mom said she has a bit of a problem walking. I said hey, that is no big deal. My mom agreed. She is a beautiful dog, a black collie with very soft looking eyes. She is about two and is looking for a special home that will give her patience, love, security and companionship. She is turn will give you every ounce of what she has. Her adoption fee has been paid by a person who sees the worth of Dizzy but just can’t have another dog in their life. Maybe Dizzy is tugging at your heart strings? She is featured in the paper this week and she is on our web site and face book page. Check it out! Bella, should we give Dizzy your beds?

The next great adventure for Ark is the Pooches Paddle. You will want to save July 26th so you can bring your pooch and go down the Pigeon River either in a kayak or a canoe. It is great fun and your pooch is welcome too! Save the date!

Do you want to help Ark? Good! We have many ways that you can. Of course there is volunteering at the Paws and Claws bookstore and now the Shipshewana Flea Market as well as the Sanctuary. You can help by looking at our needs list on the web and deciding how it best suits you. There are so many ways to help I am sure you can find something that touches your heart.

Your ‘fur-ever’ friend,

Buddy

Tip of the week: Tell your mom you love her - it was after all Mother’s Day! It is never too late or too often. Make those eyes soft and tender, she will know exactly what you are saying, and you will get what you want.

Quote of the week: When an eighty-five pound mammal licks your tears away, then tries to sit on your lap, it's hard to feel sad.”―Kristan Higgins (author, In Your Dreams)
