Focus LaGrange was given permission to move ahead with plans to decorate the county courthouse lawns with Christmas holiday items at Monday’s county commissioners meeting. The group’s president, Greg Todd, made a presentation seeking the permission.
Plans call for the Lakeland High School art class to design and produce various Christmas cards for the display. The cards will be painted, cut out of wood, and displayed in the area of the gazebo.
Todd said that the group envisions having Christmas services presented by various churches of the community at the gazebo as well as hosting a Christmas tree decorating contest and a Giving Tree to benefit some of those in the community who are less fortunate. The Giving Tree will be sponsored by The Hope Café
